San Antonio Rampage center Felix Girard has been named the Running With the Herd Player of the Month for February.
The San Antonio Rampage managed a single win in the entire month of February. Finding a player that stood out wasn’t as difficult as expected. Girard, 22, registered 3g-4a-7pts playing in all ten games this month. He also was second on the team in SOG with 26, trailing only Rocco Grimaldi’s 27 for the team lead.
Since being acquired from Nashville in the Cody MacLeod trade, Girard has seen a dramatic spike in his offensive production, mostly playing alongside Grimaldi and Gabriel Bourque. In 18 games since the trade, Girard has scored four goals and added an additional nine assists. His 0.72 pts/game pace is second on the team, trailing recently promoted JT Compher by just 0.01.
The Rampage kick off March with a semi-revamped team tonight. playing on home ice for the first time in exactly one month. The Grand Rapids Griffins come to town for the first time this season for Military Appreciation Night. Puck drop is at 7:30pm CT and the game can be heard on Ticket760.
