The Florida Panthers, NHL affiliate to the Rampage, made their first round of cuts this morning reducing their training camp roster to 31 players. Twelve prospects departed immediately for San Antonio from Dallas, where the Panthers will battle the Stars tomorrow night in their fourth preseason game. Among those headed to Rampage camp, which starts tomorrow morning, are forwards Connor Brickley, Steven Hodges, John McFarland, Brett Olson, and Logan Shaw; defensemen Josh Mcfadden and Jonathan Racine, and goalies Michael Houser and Sam Brittain.

Also released from the Panthers’ training camp roster were forward Joe Basaraba and defenseman Josh Brown. Both will attend Rampage training camp as invites hoping to land an AHL deal.

The Panthers also waived six players, most very familiar faces. Forwards Bobby Butler, Joey Crabb, Ryan Martindale, and Garrett Wilson; defenseman Greg Zanon, and goalie Dan Ellis will need to go unclaimed by the other 29 NHL teams in order to report to San Antonio tomorrow afternoon.
