The San Antonio Rampage recalled goaltender, Kent Simpson, from ECHL Colorado today. Rampage starter Jeremy Smith suffered an undisclosed injury in last night’s victory over the Texas Stars. It is unknown at this time how much time he will miss.

Simpson has started three games for the Eagles, going 2-1 with a 2.01 GAA and 0.933 save percentage. He will likely serve as Spencer Martin’s backup until Smith is cleared to return to action.
Additionally, the team announced they have signed defenseman Matt Lashoff to a PTO. Lashoff, a former first round draft choice by Boston in 2005, has played in 354 AHL games and 74 NHL games in his career. The 6’2″ 205lb eleven year pro brings a veteran presence to a very young and inexperienced blue line in San Antonio.

Both Simpson and Lashoff will join the team in Cleveland for this week’s set of games with the defending champion Monsters.
