The Rampage begin their first extended road trip of the season tonight in Bakersfield. After a 3-0 road trip last week, the Rampage returned home on Sunday and played their worst game of the year in front of some increasingly frustrated home fans, losing to Ontario 4-2. The loss was San Antonio’s fifth straight on home ice to open the season.
The Condors split a set of games in San Jose last weekend, getting blanked 4-0 in game one and winning game two 4-3 in a shootout. Former Rampage winger Taylor Beck leads the Condors with 4 assists, and they have gotten solid goaltending from rookie Nick Ellis.
Recently sent down Gabriel Bourque will make his season debut for the Rampage tonight playing alongside Trent Vogelhuber and Mike Sislo. Bourque is a veteran of 122 AHL games, all with Milwaukee. In his one full season with the Admirals, Bourque scored 18 goals and added 18 more assists in 78 regular season games. He then added 7g-6a in 13 playoff games that same season.
